William Ricky Steele

State Road Mr. William "Ricky" Steele, age 58, of Poplar Springs Road, passed away Monday, December 24, 2007 at Britthaven of Wilkesboro. Mr. Steele was born February 14, 1949 in Surry County to Kenny Winfield & Alma Cockerham Steele. Mr. Steele was a member of Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Cockerham Steele. Survivors include: two brothers, David Steele and wife Texie of State Road, Kent Steele and wife Peggy of Jonesville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Bessie's Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Ralph Groce. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
