James Harold Cheek

March 3, 1936 — July 28, 2008

Elkin Mr. James Harold "Buby" Cheek age 72, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville. Mr. Cheek was born March 3, 1936 in Wilkes County to James Franklin & Lexie Ann Colbert Cheek. Mr. Cheek was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Iredell County and retired from Century Furniture Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include: three sisters, Hazel Smith of Harmony, Thelma Barber, Lorene Barber and husband Paul all of Jonesville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. E.R. Wiles and Rev. Garwood Caudill. Burial will follow at Knobbs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
