Cathryn A. Ellis 90 resident of Tensed, ID died Dec. 23, 2009 at her home at Tensed. She was born March 5, 1919 to Andrew C. and Theresa Infeldt Northburg at Crosby, MN. She grew up at Crosby, MN She married Peter Callisto in 1937 and they were divorced in 1941. She then married Arthur Ellis May 7, 1941 at Crosby. They moved to North Dakota in 1949 and then to Spokane, WA in 1950. While in Spokane, she worked for Pacific Fruit Co. She moved to Pinehurst, ID in 1952 where she was a homemaker and raised her family. She moved to Shirley Basin, WY. She later moved to Jeffrey City, WY where she baked in a resturant and tended bar at an adjoining tavern. During this time, she won the Wyoming State Women's Bowling Championship with a score of 299. She returned to Shirley Basin, WY in 1967 where she was a cook at a resturant whose main customers were local miners. During this time, she received her GED at age 59. She later went on to cook for the local school district until she retired in 1981. She moved to Tensed where she worked for the Tensed Senior Citizen meal site. She later worked as a baker for Cross Key's resturant in Tensed. Her husband died in 1986. She loved to fish, enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed playing the guitar and any keyboard as well as accordian. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall Church of Fairfied, WA. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary and Pat Hogan and daughters Patty Harvey and Ruth Beechey all of Tensed, ID and daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Jim Green of Casper, WY. Also surviving are her sister Barbara Kephart of Crystal Falls, MI, 14 Grandchildren 25 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren which were always around her. She was preceded in death by Brothers Orville, Clarence, Wilbur and Francis Northburg and sisters May Hamilton and Ethel Green as well as two grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. While she was living, there were 8 sets of five generations. Memorial Services will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on the corner of Brewster and Fairweather St. in Fairfield, WA Saturday January 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Stewart Stiles officiating. Hodge Funeral Home, St .Maries is entrusted with arrangements.
