VIRGINIA MCNEIL SNOW ELKIN- Virginia McNeil Snow, 90, of Elkin, died of natural causes at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Statesville on November 19, 2007. She was born at Bina, NC, on June 29, 1917, to James Calvin McNeil and Daisy Badger McNeil, who predeceased her. She was predeceased by her three siblings, Pauline McClister, Gaither McNeil and Billie Thompson. On February 11, 1939, she married Guy Snow, who predeceased her on July 5, 1989. She was a graduate of the Ashe County, NC school system, and Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA. She worked a variety of jobs including being vice-president and secretary of Snow Motor Company, and closed her working career with Northwestern Bank. She was a lifelong Presbyterian, and a member of the Elkin Presbyterian Church. She is survived by: two sons, Guy Snow and wife, Barbara, of Charlotte, and Jim Snow and wife, Kay, of High Point; five grandchildren including Justin Snow and wife, Kristi, of Raleigh, Gina Arroba and husband, Shannon, of Charlotte, Misty Ingram and husband, Jeremy, of Matthews, Katherine Wilkins and husband, Chris, of Richmond, VA, and Preston Snow of High Point; and one great-grandchild, Emily Ingram of Matthews. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the care given by Carolyn Ward, Peggy Shumate and Louella Spicer during the last several years, and is forever indebted for the love, care and devotion expressed and given by Gene Minogue. A private, graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Hollywood Cemetery in Elkin. Hodges Funeral Home of Elkin is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice.
