Elkin Ms. Willie A. Alexander, age 95, of Johnson Ridge Road, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007 at Elkin Healthcare Center. Ms. Alexander was born May 28, 1912 in Surry County to Richard Franklin & Media Mastin Alexander. Ms. Alexander was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retried from Chatham Manufacturing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucy Layell, Rose Gentry, Florence Wilkins and Jessie Alexander. Survivors include: a sister, Mozelle A. Couch of Elkin; a niece Holly Couch of Elkin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Danny Dodds. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 593 Pleasant Hill Drive, Elkin, NC 28621. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Elkin Healthcare Center for their loving care, concern and many acts of kindness shown during her time there.
