Mabel Lee Crouse Combs Hash, 87, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born on December 19, 1921 in Alleghany County to George Letcher and Pearl Leota Andrews Crouse. Mrs. Hash was a member of Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church. She retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Virginia on August 1, 1977. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hash was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Kent Combs, an infant daughter, her second husband, Fitzhugh Jackson Hash, a sister, Ruby Edwards, two brothers, Raymond L. Crouse and Talmage A. Crouse. Mrs. Hash is survived by three brothers, Woodrow Crouse of Thurmond, Mahlon Crouse of Kernersville, Cecil Crouse of State Road; a sister, Ima Gene Chappell of Elkin; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 3:00pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gunn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be Monday, September 7, 2009 at 11:00am in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.
