Roaring River Mrs. Lois Holloway Bauguess, age 59, of Greenhorn Road, passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bauguess was born May 18, 1947 in Wilkes County to Herman & Rosie Prevette Holloway. Lois was a homemaker and was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, R.J. Holloway, Rex Holloway, and Cecil Holloway; a sister, Joyce Holloway. Survivors include her husband, Harvey Ray Bauguess of the home; two sons, Harvey Gregg Bauguess and wife Janice, Johnny Ray Bauguess all of Roaring River; a brother, J.L. Holloway and wife Betty Lou of Roaring River; four sisters, Ann Lee Tharpe of Ronda, Shirley Wood of Roaring River, Pauline Call and husband James of Roaring Gap, Barbara Jean Williams and husband Wayne of Roaring River; six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Joey Byrd and Rev. Mark Wood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Bauguess will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
