Mrs. Mary Lib Collins Hawks, age 67, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born August 25, 1942 in Surry County to Millard Houston and Leona Cooper Collins. Mrs. Hawks was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church and was retired from Greentree Financial. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Lee Hawks, Brothers Luther Collins, Jimmie Roger Collins, Daniel Collins and sisters Loretta Collins Hunter and Katie Collins Brinegar. Survivors include: daughter Wanda Hawks Weaver and husband Cory of Elkin, grand daughter Journie Elizabeth Keaton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Blevins and Rev. Zach White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
