Elkin Mrs. Trula Sparks Dubroka, 1914-2005 was formerly of Yancey County and Baltimore, Maryland but has resided in Elkin for the past 20 years. Trula passed away peacefully at her home in Elkin on Monday night, May 30, 2005. She was born to Ed and Mary Sparks of Yancey County. She is survived by one sister, Edna Hall and her husband Terry of Elkin, as well as a stepdaughter, Cecilia Dubroka Bowlen of Pa. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dubroka and her four brothers, Howard, Roy, Coy and Fred Sparks all of Yancey County. Trula was a very active member of the West Elkin Baptist Church for the past 20 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at West Elkin Baptist Church by Rev. Dwayne Byrd. A graveside service will be held following the service at approximately at 3:00 p.m. at Young's Chapel Cemetery in Booneford, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Surry County c/o 1326 North Main Street, Mt.
