Lanny Mack Brooks

June 12, 1946 — February 10, 2006

Dobson Mr. Lanny Mack Brooks, age 59, of Roberson Creek Lane, passed away Friday February 10, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Brooks was born in Surry County June 12, 1946 to Sebert and Fern Brooks. Lanny was a life member of Mtn. Park VFW post 11222. Survivors include: His wife, Lucille Brooks of the home. A son and daughter in law, Mack Brooks and his wife Shina of Dobson. Two daughters and sons in law, Lana Longworth and husband Terry of Thurmond, Cynthia Pendergrass and husband Neal of Yadkinville. Three brothers, Tom Brooks of Sanford, a twin brother, Danny Brooks of State Road, Rev. Mickey Brooks of Dobson. Two sisters, Barbara Combs of Ennis, Brenda Barker of State Road. Three grandchildren, Samuel Longworth, Aaron Longworth, Eli Pendergrass. Funeral services will be held Monday February 13, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Charity Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Mickey Brooks and Rev. Brian Cardwell. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-9 pm at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
