Ronda Mr. Ronnie Lee Carter, age 57, of Rocky Ridge Drive, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Carter was born September 17, 1948 in Surry County to Fred Reece & Lois Collins Carter. Mr. Carter was a member of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Bonnie Carter. Survivors include a wife, Frances Riggs Carter of the home; a son, Michael Carter and wife Wendy of Ronda; a daughter, Ronnette Wittke and husband Shawn of Ronda; three brothers, Billy Joe Carter of New Bern, Larry Carter and wife Bridget, Kenneth Carter and wife Sherrie all of Elkin; sister Kathy Cheek and husband Billy of Yadkinville; three grandsons, three granddaughters. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Don Ball, Rev. Dennis Sexton and Rev. Bobby Lyles. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 13, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
