Elkin Mr. Robert Martin Parks, age 51, of Brookfall Dairy Road, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Parks was born July 17, 1955 in Wilkes County to Amy Eugene & Connie Ruth Hinson Parks, Sr. Mr. Parks was a member of Center Baptist Church and was retired from Chatham Manufacturing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: two daughters, Sandi Parks Waddell and husband Shane of Elkin, Brandi Parks Childress and husband Jason of Thurmond; two brothers, Dewitt Hall and wife June of State Road, Gene Parks and wife Jenny of Elkin; two sisters, Virginia Pardue and husband Lonnie of Thurmond, Peggy Willey and husband Steve of Elkin; three grandchildren, Jim Bob Nance, Jodi Nicole Childress, Amy Katrina Childress; a special dog, Josie; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Center Baptist Church by Rev. Jimmy Gilreath and Rev. Jimmy Pardue. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
