Selma, California Mrs. Nellie Barker Allison, age 94, of Hicks Road, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Selma Hospital. Mrs. Allison was born in Wilkes County to Ambrose & Eva Cockerham Barker. Mrs. Allison was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: two sons, Roy Michael Clark of Miss., Stephen Clark of MO; a daughter, Karen Ming of Selma; three brothers, A.J. Barker, Vance Barker and Clyde Barker; three sisters, Peggy Wilkins, Katherine Bailey and Bessie Stokes; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Wayman Ming, Jr. Burial will follow at Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
