Norma Stonestreet Maynard

Elkin Mrs. Norma Stonestreet Gentry Maynard, age 70, of Lyles Street, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Maynard was born January 23, 1937 in Wilkes County to Dolph & Margie Haynes Stonestreet. Mrs. Maynard was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and retired from Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. She was an avid crosstitcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dowe Gentry; a grandson, Christopher Gentry; a brother, Wayne Stonestreet. Survivors include: two daughters, Janice Phillips and husband Rod of Yadkinville, Jill Tedder of State Road; two sisters, Jean Cox and husband Cabel of Elkin; Ann Key and husband Bill of Roaring River; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; special aunt, Chalma Jennings, State Road; neighbors at Woodrun Apartments. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Shane Stanley. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Barron, Dr. Shuck, Jennifer, the nurse in ICU and to the staff at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
