Alan Hoy Key

Alan Hoy Key, age 82 of Elkin passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

Alan was born on September 14, 1941, in Wilkes County to Autie Hoy and Blanche Adams Key.

In addition to his parents, Alan was preceded in death by his brother Billy Key.

Survivors include his wife, Gemmie Key of the home, sons James Key and wife Myra of Winston Salem, Adam Key and wife Sarah of Wilmington, three brothers, Bobby Key, Roger Key and wife Janet, Ricky Key and wife Vickie, a sister, Kathy Key, two grandchildren, Jordan Key, Paige Key Brown and husband Austin, along with several great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Charity United Methodist Church with Reverend Stacie Eller officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Charity United Methodist Church.
