Allen Junior Tayes

Mr. Allen Junior Tayes, age 64 of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Allen was born September 27, 1956 in Iredell County to Junior and China Dishmond Tayes. He was a loving and energetic father and grandfather who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Allen was the owner of Carolina Lawn Service and loved the outdoors. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was an ordained Deacon.

Survivors include: daughters, Audrey Carpenter and her husband Scottie Carpenter of Traphill and Alicea Jones and her fiancé, Dr. Josh Weese of Denver; grandchildren, Zoey Jones, Connor Weese and Hailey Carpenter; special friend, Darla Nuzum and her family of Statesville and special family friend, C.J. Blackburn and his family of Statesville.

A celebration of life will be conducted Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church of Statesville with Rev. Tom Blackburn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
