Alma Blackburn Norman

Mrs. Alma Marlene Blackburn Norman, age 90, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Norman was born on July 21, 1932 in Wilkes County to Lee and Beulah Wood Blackburn.

Mrs. Norman was a member of Shoaly Branch Baptist Church and retired from Pleasant Ridge Child Development Center. She enjoyed gardening, canning and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Arlington Norman; siblings, Talmadge Blackburn, Walter “Peanut” Blackburn, Raymond Blackburn, Ersie Blackburn Norman, Warren Blackburn, Bobbie Blackburn, Velda Blackburn Harper, Rita Blackburn Bailey and Max Blackburn.

Survivors include: sons, Burt Norman and his wife Carolyn of State Road, Ricky Norman and his wife Martha of State Road; granddaughters, Christy Norman Howlett and her husband Sheldon of State Road, Olivia Norman of Wilkesboro, Amanda Norman of Wilkesboro; great granddaughter, Elleigh Howlett.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Shoaly Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Blankley and Rev. Stanley Stogner officiating.
