Alma Holbrook Settle

Mrs. Alma Holbrook Settle, age 81, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020 at her residence.  Mrs. Settle was born June 27, 1938 in Wilkes County to Joseph Oren and Mary Grace Tucker Holbrook.

Alma retired from Chatham Manufacturing and was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church where she was the leader of the food committee for many years.  Alma always was willing to prepare food for any family or friends in need or church events.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Holbrook.

Survivors include: her husband, Herbert Settle of the home, two daughters, Tammy Caudle and husband Jimmy of State Road, Janice Wilcox and husband Randy of Orlando, Florida, a brother, Jerry Holbrook and wife Vina of Elkin, four grandchildren, Jason Caudle and wife Jessica, Amanda Colbert and husband Eric, Lydia Boettner and husband Troy, and Rachel Wilcox.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2pm at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. David Key and Rev. Russ Nixon officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service at the church.
