Ms. Annette Pardue Decelle, age 62, of Elkin passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 14, 2022 surrounded by loved ones as her long battle against pancreatic cancer came to an end. She was born December 6, 1959 in Surry County to Thomas and Geraldine Smoot Pardue.
Annette was a member of Billings Hill Baptist Church. She worked at Chatham Manufacturing for over 15 years and later earned her Medical Office Administration degree from Surry Community College. Annette loved her fur babies dearly and supported the ASPCA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Elois Smoot and Paul and Della Pardue; stepfather, Lee Moncus; and several beloved pets.
Survivors include: her brother, Thomas A. Pardue and his wife Linda; uncle and aunt, Ernest and Darlene St. John, whom she thought of as dad and mom; daughter, Jonna Chappell and Patrick, and niece, Celena Pardue and her boyfriend Walter Poplin. Annette became a second mother to Jonna’s friends, Levi Billings, Cathryn Cline, Rodney Crouse, Todd Brinkley, and Wesley Vestal. She also shared lifelong friendships with Lisa Patneaude and Carolyn Luffman.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall, Rev. James Hall, and Rev. Danny Royal officiating. Burial will follow in Billing's Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to ASPCA, PO BOX 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
