Annie Tharpe

Mrs. Annie Lee Holloway Tharpe, age 90, of Ronda passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at her home. She was born October 22, 1928 in Wilkes County to Herman and Rosa Prevette Holloway.

Mrs. Tharpe attended Macedonia Baptist Church and was a member of the Purple Heart Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 638. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William David Tharpe; daughter, Janet Tharpe Wingler; brothers, R.J. Holloway, Rex Holloway, Cecil Holloway; sisters, Joyce Holloway, Barbara Williams, Lois Bauguess, and Shirley Wood.

Survivors include: daughter, Vivian Settle and husband Harley of Roaring Gap; brother, J.L. Holloway of Ronda; sister, Pauline Call and husband James of Roaring Gap; grandchildren, David Settle and wife Diane, Amanda Settle and husband Jon; great grandchildren, Courtney and Colton Settle, and  Trinity and Tucker Settle.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Smith, Rev. Mark Wood, and Rev. Greg Bauguess officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
