Our precious angel fell asleep listening to his mother’s heartbeat and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 2, 2024. Azriel Augustus Habana was delivered earth-side on Saturday, August 3, 2024. He was surrounded by those who loved him most. Though he was tiny, he was mighty, forever imprinting on our hearts and lives.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents; Jack Walter Smith, Candelaria Conseco, Fidel Torres and Francisca Melendez, great uncle, Alvin Martin, uncle, Eulogio Habana, and aunt Augusta Hill.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Mariah Smith and Juan Habana. His five siblings, Michele Habana-Hernandez, Denise Habana-Hernandez, Juan Habana Hernandez, Xavier Largen and Jiram Habana; great-grandparents, Helen Martin and Larry Carter, Hazel Smith, William and Kayla Martin; grandparents, Anita Martin and John Smith, Juana Torres and Moises Habana; aunts and uncles, Dalia Candela and husband, Demetrio, Aaliyah Propts and husband Christopher, Maria Habana, Demetrio Habana and wife Azucena, Damon Smith and Donovan Smith; cousins, Jett Smith, Jacee Smith, Liam Smith, Alessandria Smith, Ilse Candela, Demetrio Candela and Nathan Candela.
We would like to extend our greatest gratitude to Lyndhurst Obstetrics & Gynecology, Atrium Health Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the countless providers and nurses who took the best care of our angel and us.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel.
