Barbara Sparks

Mrs. Barbara Parks Sparks, age 81, of Kernersville passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Sparks was born July 7, 1938 in Florida to Eugene and Ruby Pruitt Parks.

Mrs. Sparks was a member of Roaring River Methodist Church and retired from Bank of America. She loved to travel with her husband Jack. Mrs. Sparks loved and was very devoted her family and adored her son Curtis. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and furbaby, Tony.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Beth Norman.

Survivors include: her husband, Jack Sparks of the home; son, Curtis Sparks and wife Kelly of Statesville; brother, Julius Parks of Roaring River; grandchildren, Alan Sparks and wife Tavia, Dylan Sparks; great-grandchildren, Noah Sparks and wife Leslie, Tiara Sparks, Sean Sparks; great-great grandson, Ethan Bello; special furbaby, Tony; and many special friends and extended family.

Mrs. Sparks will lie-in-state, Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time, a private funeral service will be held at Elkin Funeral Service with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park.
