Barbara Williams

Mrs. Barbara Hewitt Williams, age 89, of Elkin passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Williams was born February 9, 1932 in Chester, South Carolina to George Franklin and Helen Gertrude Steppe Hewitt, Sr.

Mrs. Williams was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin. Barbara was a very special and loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore B. Williams; daughters, Katherine Williams Gregory, Janice Caroline Williams; great-grandson, Dakota Chase Gregory; sister, Mary Hewitt Torrence; and brother, George Franklin Hewitt, Jr.

Survivors include: son, Mike Williams and wife Debbie of Elkin; daughter, Susan Williams of Elkin; grandchildren, Steven Scott Gregory and wife April; Jennifer Brooke Gregory and husband Joseph; Steven Elmore Williams and wife Amanda, Jason Spencer Williams; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Faith, Jake, Caroline, Delaney; son-in-law, Tommy Gregory; niece, Ann Hewitt Williams and husband Wayne of Charlotte; special friends, Dawn Barker, Waddell and Chloe Holcomb ; and beloved canine companion, Zoe.

A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
