Bert Holcomb

Mr. Bert Harold Holcomb, age 90, of Thurmond passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Holcomb was born January 23, 1931 in Wilkes County to Garnie Holcomb and Veatress Spicer Holcomb.

Mr. Holcomb was a member of Center Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He was the owner operator of Holcomb Appliance Service for over 40 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Holcomb and sister, Bronda Lee Harris.

Survivors include: his son, Michael Holcomb and his wife Janet of Thurmond; daughter, Michele Royall and husband Nick of Thurmond; grandchildren, Alex Holcomb, Kaitlyn Cockerham and her husband Caleb, and Logan Royall.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Bobby Billings officiating. Burial will follow in Center Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Center Baptist Church, 2948 S. Center Church Rd, Thurmond, NC 28683.
