Mrs. Betty Lou Collins Rogers, age 81, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at her home in Elkin.
Betty was born May 21, 1942, in Surry County to David Ralph and Norma Dowell Collins.
Betty was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company. She loved working on her flowers and going to yard sales.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by brothers Pete Collins, James “Tip” Collins, and Harry “Boots” Collins; sisters Lois Carter and Louise Martin.
Survivors include her husband, James David Rogers, of the home; son, James Michael Rogers of Elkin; grandchildren, Justin Rogers and Logan Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Bobby Prevette officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
