Bobby Zebedee Key

Bobby Key, age 86 of State Road went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Pruitt Health in Elkin.

Bobby was born October 12, 1938, to Audie and Blanche Adams Key. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was passionate about gardening and anything to do with being outside. He loved his brothers and sister and always looked forward to trade night. His family meant the world to him. 

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Willa Key, and three brothers, Alan Key, Ricky Key, and Billy Key.

Survivors include his son, James Key, and wife Avery of Texas; daughters, Tammie Key of Wisconsin, Denise Rector and husband Lane of State Road; brother, Roger Key and wife Janet of Yadkinville; sister, Kathy Key of King; and grandchildren, Kelsey Singh and husband Spencer, Ashlen Rector and Gage Phillips, a great-grandson, Sebastian Singh.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Whitley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the sevice.

The family would like to especially thank Pruitt Healthcare and its wonderful staff for the love, kindness, and support they gave our dad. They all made his last two years of life better each and every day. The family is forever grateful.
