Brett David Stike

Brett David Stike, age 32, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at his residence. Brett was born July 11, 1990 in Surry County to David Lynn Stike and Amy Blackburn Caveny.

Brett was of the Baptist faith and a proud graduate of both Elkin High School and Appalachian State University.

In addition to his mother, Brett was preceded in death by his uncle, Ricky Blackburn; maternal grandparents, Sonny Blackburn and Lois Blackburn Billings; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Clara Stike.

Survivors include: his father, David L. Stike and stepmother Suzanne J. Hillin of Thurmond; his sister, Taylor Stike of Jonesville; maternal stepfather, Dale Caveny; maternal step-grandfather, Jim Billings; nephew, Liam Smith of Jonesville; aunts and uncles, Mike and Teresa Miles, Tracy and Dawn Longbottom, Cathy Blackburn, James and Kelli Stike, and Edward Stike and Michelle Dillon; cousins, Mattie Blackburn, Cameron Blackburn, Seth Longbottom, Ben Longbottom, Emeline Settle, Colson Vestal, Clay Stike, Carson Stike, and Camden Stike.

A funeral service will be conducted at Roaring Gap Baptist Church on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Hackler and Dr. Johnny Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Elkin Funeral Service on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
