Byron "Butch" Brown

Mr. Byron Bryce “Butch” Brown, Jr., age 74, of Elkin passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home. Mr. Brown was born August 7, 1946 in Surry County to Byron Byrce Brown, Sr. and Marie Brown Norman.

Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing, being out on the lake, and skeet shooting. He loved his spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Byron Lee Brown.

Survivors include: son, Charles Michael Brown and wife Amy of Elkin; daughters, Shannon Marie Layell and husband Keith of Thurmond, Melissa Caudill and husband Jackie of Thurmond; sisters, Tonia Brown Spicer & husband Larry of Elkin; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his beloved canine companion, Buddy.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Brian Cardwell and Rev. Donathan Layell officiating. Burial will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
