Byron Kirkman, Jr.

Mr. Byron Boyles Kirkman, Jr, age 71, of Ronda passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home. Mr. Kirkman was born April 18, 1951 in Guilford County to Byron Kirkman, Sr. and Rachel Viola Pinnix Kirkman.

Mr. Kirkman was a graduate of NC State and member of Dennyville Baptist Church. He retired from Weyerhauser; and was co-owner of Double K Cattle Farm. He was an accomplished musician with a giving heart. He was the best brother and uncle ever.

Mr. Kirkman was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his sisters, Cheryl Baldwin and her husband Ricky of Orange Park, FL and Kathy Urbowicz and her husband Michael of Mocksville; farm partner, Steve Key of Ronda; nephews and nieces, Scott Baldwin and his wife Meghan, Aaron Jackson and his wife Tessie, Casey Gaffrey and her husband Dr. Tim Gaffrey, Jordan Jackson and his wife Amber; eight great nieces and nephews; and two great-great nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dennyville Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Riley and Rev. Ricky Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
