Carl Jones Casey

Mr. Carl Jones Casey, age 83, of Traphill passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Casey was born May 12, 1938 in Wilkes County to Charlie and Mary Belle Cheatwood Casey.

Mr. Casey was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years, church trustee, and sang in the choir. He retired from Chatham Manufacturing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ira Casey, Sam Casey; sisters, Stella Sparks, Ruby Barker, Connie Pipes, and Katherine Casey.

Survivors include, his wife Betty Jo Wilmoth Casey of the home; son Michael Casey and wife Kim Buelin of Traphill; daughter, Sandy Bates and husband Jackie of Boonville; brother, Billy Casey and wife Mildred of Traphill; grandchildren, Kayla Reed and husband Jason, C.J. Noah and wife Tiffany; eight great-grandchildren, James, Troy, Grady, Hailey, Kayleigh, Rylee, Bryson, and Kenzie.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Stoltzfus and Rev. Jerry Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
