Carol Vanhoy

Mrs. Carol Sprinkle Vanhoy, age 65, of State Road went to her Heavenly home Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Pruitt Health. Mrs. Vanhoy was born May 1, 1956 to Paul Sprinkle and Ardell Pruitt Sprinkle Hemric.

Mrs. Vanhoy was a member of State Road Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was very active and retired from Surry County Health Department. She was a follower of Jesus Christ and lived a life that was pleasing to Him. She enjoyed singing, traveling, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Vanhoy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Benny Sprinkle and sister-in-law, Virginia Wagoner.

Survivors include: her loving husband, Freddie Vanhoy of the home; sons, Billy Vanhoy and wife Karen of Lake Wylie, SC, Jason Vanhoy and wife Danielle of Ellenboro; sister, Patricia Anderson and husband Roy of Clingman; three granddaughters, Grier, Sophia, and Salem.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at State Road Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Garry Tatum and Rev. Bobby Norman officiating. Mrs. Vanhoy will lie-in-state from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

To know her was to love her, and if you were blessed enough to know her, then you know she loved and prayed for each one of you. Our family truly appreciates all of the prayers and kind words over the past weeks.
