Carolyn Wagoner Cooper

Mrs. Carolyn Wagoner Cooper, age 70, of Elkin passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Cooper was born January 25, 1950 in Surry County to Ransom and Dorethea Wagoner.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church and retired from Walmart in Elkin. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Robbins and niece, Lynn Robbins.

Survivors include: her husband of 54 years, Billy Gray Cooper, Sr. of the home; children, Billy Gray Cooper, Jr. and wife Janine of Jonesville; Theresa Cooper and husband Allie Nichols of Elkin, Terry Cooper and wife Alicia of Elkin; grandchildren, J. Jay Burchette and wife Jessica, Tee Jay Cooper, Devan Cooper and wife Ashley, Laken Cooper; great-grandchildren, Jackson Burchette and Jace Burchette.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Welcome Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cooper will lie-in-state from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
