Carolyn Baldwin Mccann

Mrs. Carolyn Baldwin McCann, age 81, of Roaring River passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. McCann was born November 25, 1939 in Surry County to John Franklin and Alice Mae Mounce Baldwin.

Mrs. McCann was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church where she served in the choir. She was a volunteer at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and Britthaven where she shared her gift of music, crafts, and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Morgan McCann; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and June McCann and sister, Barbara Simpson Holyfield.

Survivors include: her children, Johnny McCann and wife Jodie of Elkin, Rebecca Haas of Wilkesboro, Eddie McCann and wife Kathy of North Wilkesboro, Eric Daniel McCann of Iowa; brother, John Christopher Baldwin and wife Sun Yong Kim Baldwin of Georgia; grandchildren, Karah Winters and husband Caleb, Colter A.M. Haas, Montana McCann and wife Courtney, Kayla McCann; great-grandchildren, Cody McCann and Hayden Williams.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Danny Bauguess officiating. Mrs. McCann will lie-in-state Friday from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Home Baptist Church, 162 Byrd Rd, Roaring River, NC 28669
