Carrie Elizabeth Burchette

Carrie Elizabeth Burchette, age 30, of Elkin, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, California.

Carrie was born in Surry County on March 30, 1994, to Margaret Childress Groce and Joey Burchette.

Carrie's adventurous spirit was evident in her love for the outdoors. She found joy in every moment spent in nature, whether riding horses, cheering for the Carolina Panthers or woodworking with her dad.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Garvey and Kay Burchette, grandfather Talmadge Childress, uncle Junior and his wife Diane Childress, and cousin Nicky McGuire.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Margaret and Toby Groce; father, Joey Burchette; brother Jacob Burchette; grandmother, Attie Childress; aunts Mary Wilson and husband Kevin, Renee Haynes and husband Billy, Ann Eaton and husband Ricky, and Beth Burnett and husband Gary; uncles Richard Burchette and wife Lisa and Michael Burchette and wife Starr; several loving cousins and very close family members, Autumn Portilla and Damian Smithey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
