Cecelia Jones

Cecelia Jacqueline Jones, age 77, of State Road, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.

Cecelia was born January 20, 1947 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Ralph A. and Loretta Corsi Maillaro.

Cecelia was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and an active part of her church community, where she was a member of the Lady’s Guild. She was also involved in the Jonesville Senior Center and the Feed to Elderly program for Jonesville and Elkin. Cecelia enjoyed crocheting and made prayer shawls for those in hospice. She also enjoyed cooking and was always making new friends.

In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by, daughter, Gerette-Lynne "Geri" Gilliam, brother, Ralph Maillaro, Jr., father and mother- in-law, James Jones, and wife Blanche Jones.

Survivors include: husband, Richard Jones of the home; son, Richard Jones Jr. and wife Colleen, of Belford, New Jersey; sister, Rachele Bernier and husband Howard of Vero Beach, Florida; brother-in-law, Robert John Jones and wife Rita of Paramus, New Jersey; son-in-law, Donald Gilliam of State Road; grandchildren, Donald Wayne "Tre" Gilliam, III, Brandon James Gilliam, Corey Michael Gilliam, Aimee Leanora Gilliam, Kileigh Jones, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father John Hanic officiating, accompanied by Sister Janis McQuade, SSJ. The family will receive friends following the service at St. Stephen Family Life Center.
