Charles Nathaniel Jordan, 81, of Roaring River departed his earthly home and was carried to Heaven by angels on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Charles was born in Wilkes County on October 24, 1938 to Joseph Luther and Alma Burchette Jordan.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Geraldine Billings Jordan; his four children, Darren (Louise) Jordan, Denise (Tim) Benge, James (Kutina) Jordan, and Jason (Brandi) Jordan all of Roaring River; one brother, Rev. Kenneth (Margaret) Jordan; six grandchildren, Ashley B (Matthew) Patrick, Jordan Benge, Matthew Jordan, Nathanael Jordan, Brea Jordan, Laci Jordan; one great-grandson, Mason Patrick; and two step-grandchildren, Bridget (James) Bauguess, Kayla (Benjamin) Billings.
Preceding him in death and awaiting his arrival in Heaven along with his parents are his sister, Eileen J Johnson, and two brothers, Quinton Jordan and Clifford Jordan.
Charles was a dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. Serving God and following his will was the main focus of his life. Charles spent most of his life farming, raising tobacco, chickens and operating a dairy farm. Upon retiring from farming, he spent 10 years working at LP in Roaring River. He had served as a member of Gideon’s International, and retired volunteer fireman who served as assistant chief for 20 years at Shepherds Cross Roads VFD, a former NC Forest Warden, and previous board member of NC Farm Bureau and Clingman Medical Center.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Smith and Rev. Dwayne Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Jordan will lie-in-state Friday from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service and Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Pallbarers carrying our Daddy to his final resting place will be his sons, Darren, James & Jason; his grandsons, Jordan, Matthew & Nathanael; and great grandson, Mason.

The family would like to thank Dr. Albright and staff at Elkin Oncology, the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Hospital; and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their care.
