Cletus Casey, Sr.

Mr. Charlie Cletus Casey, Sr. age 90, of Thurmond passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Airy. Cletus was born March 26, 1933 in Surry County to William M. and Ona Jane Brown Casey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Casey and a son, Bobby Casey.

Survivors include: sons, Charlie C. Casey, Jr. of Marion, NC, Tommy Dale Casey of Mt. Airy, Donnie Ray Casey of Thurmond; daughter, Jo Ann Casey of Mt. Airy; sister, Raydell Casey, Josephine Casey Marshall; grandchildren, Kendall Kneal, Mandy Murphy, Misty Christopher, Taylor Young; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brendan, Rachel, Kayli , Kenzie , Kyndall , Mattie and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Danny Royal officiating. The family will receive friends at Elkin Funeral Service prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
