Christina Rose Smith

Christina Rose Smith, age 86, of Jonesville, went to be with her Savior in heaven. She passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Hugh Chatham Hospital. She was born to Dennis and Maria Demartino Lanni on July 10, 1938, in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Christina was an active community member and loved spending time with her friends at the senior center in Jonesville. She cherished crocheting and making gifts for her family and friends. Christina also enjoyed playing card games, preparing home-cooked meals, and traveling the world. She was a very charitable person, she gave to Wounded Warriors, Boys Town, ASPCA, St Jude, March of Dimes, she loved to play Rook at the senior center, and loved her family and friends. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Jonesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Rose Nault, and her beloved husband, Johnny Smith.

Christina is survived by her daughter, Tina Wagoner, and her husband, Sammy; her sons, John and Dennis Smith; her brother, John Lanni; her sister, Edith Lanni; and her treasured grandchildren, Zoe Vestal and Daniel Wilson. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Woody and Nancy Smith; her niece, Nancy Reardon, and her husband, Chris; her nephew, Mark Lang, and his wife, Marguerite; her sister-in-law, Joyce Carter; and her dear friends, Sandra Long, and Karen Walser.

A memorial service to celebrate Christina's life will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Jonesville, with Rev. Dwayne Lanford and Rev. Drew Lovette officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Christina's family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in Christina's memory.
