Claudette Nixon Sprinkle

Claudette Nixon Sprinkle, age 89, of Elkin passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Hugh Chatham Health Hospital.  Mrs. Sprinkle was born June 8, 1943 in Surry County to Dan Edgar and Ennis Cockerham Nixon.

Claudette was the owner of Mother Goose Nursery for many years.  She was also a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church where she served on the bereavement committee.  She was an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Hampton Sprinkle, Jr, a son, Joel Thomas “Joey” Sprinkle, and two sisters, Kay Rice and Carolyn Nixon.

Survivors include two sons, Jay Nixon Sprinkle and wife Michelle of Jonesville, Jonathan Morris Sprinkle and wife Kristi of Elkin, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Sprinkle of Rocky Mount, six grandchildren, Retta Elizabeth Sprinkle of Elkin, Nathaniel Jay Sprinkle of Winston Salem, Braden Daniel Sprinkle of Elkin, Whitney Brooke Sprinkle of Charlotte, Colt Holcomb of Thurmond, Hailey Holcomb of N. Wilkesboro, two great-grandchildren: Ebba Nova Sprinkle, Sagan Poppy Sprinkle.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Blevins officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
