Daniel Byrd Wilmoth

Mr. Daniel Byrd Wilmoth, age 80, of State Road passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Wilmoth was born November 18, 1940 in Guilford County to Byrd and Pearl Bowman Wilmoth.

Mr. Wilmoth was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, retired from Duke Energy, and a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Percy and Dorothy Stonestreet.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Hilda Wilmoth of the home; daughter, Danielle Wiles and husband Eric Wayne of Elkin; grandchildren, Eric Daniel Wiles and Morgan Elise Wiles.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. John Attaway officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the NC Honor Guard and VFW Post 10346. Mr. Wilmoth will lie-in-state Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
