Darrell Gene Blackburn

Mr. Darrell Gene Blackburn, age 84, of Tobaccoville passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Blackburn was born in Virginia on August 2, 1937.

Mr. Blackburn was a retired civil engineer with Site Consultants in South Carolina. He was a hard worker and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson, Byron Lee Brown and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 36 years, Wanda Lee Blackburn of the home; daughters, Misty Blackburn of Columbia, SC, Shannon Layell and husband Keith of Thurmond, Melissa Caudill and husband Jackie of Thurmond; son, Michael Brown and wife Amy of Elkin; 20 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Kevin Broyhill officiating.
