Darrell Ambrose Knott

Mr. Darrell Ambrose Knott, age 98, of Elkin passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Mr. Knott was born November 27, 1920 in Guilford County to Walter Lee and Dewey Manilla Roach Knott and was a retired creeler operator with Fiber Industries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline Overcash Knott; second wife, Willie Mae Carver Knott; third wife, Emmaleen Sloop Knott; daughter, Sharon Knott Plott; son, Thomas Knott; sister, Wanda Whitlow; and brother, Donald Knott.

Survivors include: his children, Darrell Lee Knott and wife Linda of Madison, Carol Barger of Troutman; and Barry Knott and wife Cindy of Mt. Ulla; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Greg Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30–2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Elkin Funeral Service.

The family requests memorials be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625.

The family would like to thank Dr. Walker and staff, the staff of Gordon Hospice House; and special friend, Sandra Smith for the care and support given to Mr. Knott.
