Dr. Darrell David Rector, Jr.

Dr. Darrell David Rector Jr., age 66, of Elkin, NC passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at his residence following a long illness.  He was born January 21, 1953 in San Diego County, California to Darrell David Rector, Sr. and Mary Louise Rea Rector.

Mr. Rector was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church and retired from the NC Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory System.

Survivors include: his wife of 32 years, Barbara G. Rector of the home; sons, Darrell “David” Rector III and wife, Jessica, of South Bend, IN and Brian James Rector of Elkin; daughters, Hannah Elizabeth Rector of Raleigh and Amy Carol Rector of Elkin; sister, Diana Rea of El Paso, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church Christian Life Center with Dr. Johnny Blevins and Dr. Stephen Robbins officiating. Following the service in the Christian Life Center, the family invites everyone to participate in a covered dish meal and guests are requested to dress casually.

The family would like to thank Mt. Valley Hospice, Elkin Valley Baptist Church family, and friends and neighbors for all of the care and support given during Darrell’s illness.
