David Collins

Mr. James David Collins, age 60, of Elkin passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. David was born December 17, 1961 in Yadkin County to James Russell Collins and Carolyn Shore Collins.

David was a member of Community Fellowship Church. He was a gifted jack of all trades and an avid animal lover. He was a loving husband and father.

David was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 32 years, Susan B. Collins of the home; daughter, Kelly Collins and her husband Michael Bryan of Elkin; mother, Carolyn S. Collins of Hamptonville; brother, Russell Collins and his wife Teresa of Hamptonville; sister, Starla Hoots and her husband Phillip of Yadkinville; special nephews, Isaac Hoots, Malachi Hoots; special niece, Christina Register and her husband Christopher; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many other nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Michael Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
