David Lee Shumate

Mr. David Lee Shumate, age 65, of Ronda passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his home. Mr. Shumate was born September 7, 1954 in Surry County to Wes and Shirley Stuart Shumate.

Mr. Shumate worked in construction and was an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his girlfriend of 27 years, Mary Lee Bowlin of Ronda; and several brothers, sisters, and extended family.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and the many doctors, nurses, and staff that have cared for Mr. Shumate over the years.
