Deborah Holloway

Ms. Deborah “Debbie” Lynne Holloway, age 64, passed from this life on August 2 at her parents’ home in Elkin after a courageous battle with cancer. Debbie was born October 2, 1957, in Chapel Hill to James Howard Holloway and Gayle Jolly Holloway.

Debbie was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkin and a 1975 graduate of Elkin High School. She worked in childcare and was loved by all who were blessed to know her. Debbie was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was known for her beautiful smile, sweet disposition, and Christ-like positive attitude. Debbie was an incredible example of what it means to love like Jesus. She was always happy and loved to laugh. Debbie will be remembered for her love of others, her extensive record collection, and her stories. We thank God for allowing her to touch so many lives.

Debbie was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Janie Armes and Carl and Margie Jolly.

Survivors include her parents, James and Gayle Holloway of Elkin; sisters, Patricia Holloway Prim and her husband Randy of State Road, Sharon Holloway Benyola and her husband Anthony of Spokane, Wash., Angela Holloway Marcus and her husband Miles of Jackson, Miss.; niece, Stephanie Prim Minton and her husband Logan; nephews, Samuel Marcus and Patrick Marcus; great-niece, Caroline Anne Minton; and special family friends, Jeff, Judy, Carrie, and Stephanie Baker.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Roaring Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Hackler officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Medi Home Health of Sparta and Mountain Valley Hospice, Debbie Ford, Ramona Pardue, Maggie Prevette, Melissa Jones, and Sonya Lovette for their care.
