Dennis Glenn Burton, Sr.

Mr. Dennis Glenn Burton, Sr. age 70, of Elkin, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at his residence.

Dennis was born in Forsyth County on March 3, 1954, to Glenn Spencer Burton and Helen Moncus Burton.

Dennis was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, a longtime volunteer with State Road Volunteer Fire Department and was a NCHSAA Football Official.  Dennis worked in transportation and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, D.A. Swaim, Jr.

Survivors include his wife Debbie Swaim Burton of Elkin, sons Dennis Glenn Burton II and wife Dayna of Lenoir, David Arthur Burton and wife Amanda of Elkin, sister, Debbie Williams and husband Mike of Elkin, grandchildren, Addison Belle Burton, Ava DeLaney Burton and Avery Wayne Burton, mother- in -law, Louise Swaim of Elkin, brothers in law, Ricky Swaim and wife Linda of Yadkinville, Mickey Swaim and wife Bobbie of Yadkinville, several nieces and nephews and their families.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 6:30 pm at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Dylan Cook officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
