Dennis Nathan Royal

Mr. Dennis Nathan Royal, age 67, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Dennis was born January 1, 1955 in Alleghany County to Clay Royal and Juanita Mae Peck Royal.

Dennis was a member of Liberty Knob Baptist Church, retired from Spectrum Communications, and an organ donor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shelby Gwynn Royal.

Survivors include: his loving wife Sandra Lyons Royal of the home; daughter, Ashley Willoughby of Cary; stepson, Clint Blevins and his wife Carly of Roaring River; brother, Harold Royal and his wife Pat of Lewisville; sisters, Evelyn Royal and her husband Jim of Sparta, Nancy Overcash and her husband Wayne of Statesville, Carolyn Call of Statesville, Kathy Poindexter of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Delaney Davis and Mason Blevins; special friend, Allen Wilson of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Wayne Overcash officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a charity of donor’s choice that helps to support disabled military veterans.

The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center and Forsyth Medical Center Hospice for their care.
