Mr. Denver Ray Ledbetter, age 86, of Elkin passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his home. Mr. Ledbetter was born February 11, 1933 in Wilkes County to Coy and Lona Cockerham Ledbetter.
Mr. Ledbetter was a veteran of the US Army, a member of Knobbs Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Mary Zell Haynes Ledbetter; 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Survivors include; his partner of 24 years, Melissa Billings of Elkin; sons, Randy Ledbetter and wife Karyn of Murrells Inlet, SC, Joey Ledbetter and wife Lynne of Winston; step-brother, Wayne Harris and wife Linda of Forest City, NC; sister, Louise L. Mitchell and husband Harold of Troutman; step-sisters, Carol Collins of Elkin, Lorene Sill and husband David of Williford, SC; grandchildren, Aaron Ledbetter of Richmond, VA, Ashley Ledbetter of Winston-Salem, Brian Ledbetter of Winston-Salem; step-grandchildren, Bobby Billings of Rock Creek, Matt Billings of Ronda, great grandchild, Payton Billings.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Linwood Campbell and Rev. Danny Bauguess officiating. Burial will follow in Knobbs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
