Dixie Carter Samples

Mrs. Dixie Carter Samples, age 91, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Rose Glenn Manor in N. Wilkesboro. Dixie was born on February 2, 1933 in Wilkes County to Dula and Lexie Luffman Carter.

She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and helped with bereavement meals for many years.

In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband Ray Samples; daughter, Susan Samples; brothers, Howard Carter, Billy Carter; sisters, Virginia Simington and Ruby Bryant.

Survivors include: son, Carter Samples and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Josh Samples and wife Amy, Luke Samples and wife Angel; great-grandchildren, Tate Samples, Jace Samples, Porter Samples and Palmer Samples.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Collins and Pastor Brian Cardwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
